The Stone Man

It’s not every day a drone captures the talent of a convicted murderer, especially one that is formerly a children’s playground. Found in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1976, this is credited to a man named Jimmy Boyle, a convicted gangster now serving time at Barlinnie Prison located in Glasgow. The statue, named Gulliver the Gentle Giant, offers an ironic name thanks to the history of the man who created it. Removed in 2011, the statue can live on thanks to the drone bold enough to capture the image.

Best of Both Worlds

The Mont Saint-Michel looks like the perfect balance of a merge between land and sea. The phantasmagorical landscape is thanks to the Dronestagram travel photography competition, a contest held annually for amateur drone enthusiasts. The site is located in Normandy and is a huge tourist attraction earning 3 million visitors a year. The island, since the 8th century, has been a gathering place for monks, and with its tranquil scenery, it isn’t hard to understand why. The site is truly one to behold.
