A Day of Fun Underwater

Hurricane Katrina delivered a devastating blow to the economy during August of 2005. The storm, topping off with wind speeds of over 170 mph,  took the lives of over 1,200 people, and the homes of many others. The photo of this Six Flags park, taken only two weeks after the storm blew over, shows only a fraction of the destruction the town of New Orleans endured. An abandoned park, once a sight of laughter and merriment, a fitting metaphor for a horrible tragedy.

Utopian Skylines

There is something unique and satisfying about an array of close-fitting skyscrapers, while at the same time, something devastatingly chilling. The spurts of color mixed with white offers an appealing vision of asymmetrical beauty. From the ground up, it may resemble that of fishbowl filled to the brim with underwater decor. The crowded buildings speak volumes to Hong Kong’s population issue, showing an aerial view of just how hard it is to get around in a city filled past its limit.
