Slaves
Up until it was abolished, slavery was very commonplace in the Arabian Peninsula. In fact, Saudi Arabia was one of the last countries to abolish slavery, when the monarchy did away with it in 1962.
Voting Rights
It was only in 2011 that King Abdullah reviewed the right for women to vote. In 2015, he announced that women would finally be allowed to vote, making the country that last to make this happen.
