Storm Fronts Offer Stunning Visuals

When viewed from a distance it is often easy to see when a storm front is moving in. The change in barometric pressure causes a stark difference in weather on either side of the front. The same is true for cold fronts moving in from the north. This picture beautifully captures a front moving in from the ocean right at sunset. The contrast between the two sides is breathtaking.

Rainbow Pools Are Best Viewed from Afar

With a name like “Rainbow Pools,” you might imagine a relaxing spring or a spa pool, but those couldn’t be further from the truth. The rainbow sheen is beautiful when viewed from afar, but the water underneath is filthy. The rainbow sheen is caused by a layer of natural oil that is produced by decay in the swamp water. On top of the decay, there is also the danger of alligators. No thanks, we can look at it from afar.
