Grayson Was Growing
Grayson needed special attention because of the drugs that his birth mother had taken while she was pregnant with him. The exposure caused him to develop more slowly than other children his age. He was also slower to grow, so Katie wanted to be sure to give him plenty of time before introducing another child to his life. Over the coming months, Grayson would continue to grow and develop as the residual effect of the drugs began to fade.
He Was Growing into a Happy Child
As Grayson grew and got older, Katie was relieved to see that he was growing into a happy and healthy child. Like any parent, Katie was worried about Grayson and only wanted what was best for him. Grayson did require more of her time than her foster children had, but he also had a stronger bond with Katie than they had. Sadly, many foster children do not develop bonds with their foster parents because they are moved around so much during the foster care process. This is difficult for the children and can lead to them refusing to communicate.
