Katie had grown to love Grayson like her own child over the next 11 months as her, and the caseworker searched for his birth parents. They tried to contact the birth parents through the information that was left at the clinic and through local advertisements, but no one came forward. Katie and her caseworker were unable to reach Grayson’s birth parents through the legal channels.

After trying to contact Grayson’s birth parents for 11 months, Katie was finally able to finish the process of adopting her new son. Up to this point, she had essentially been fostering Grayson and would have had to surrender him had his birth parents come forward and wanted to take him. Luckily for all involved, they didn’t, and little Grayson got to stay with Katie in a safe and loving home. This was really the best situation for everyone involved.
