Chris Columbus was the director of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, the first installment of the series. He wanted to make sure that the children that was cast in the film were absolutely perfect, so much so that Susie Figgis, who was the casting director on the film, actually quit saying that he was “too picky” and passed over thousands of child actors vying for a role in the film.
Each Wand Was Hand Made
You might have noticed in the background of Ollivander’s Wand Shop is full of thousands of wand boxes. They all look quite impressive, and that’s because each and every single one of them was actually hand made. There were over 17,000 hand decorated wands made for the films.
