King Faisal was assassinated by his nephew after he returned from a trip to the United States. Time magazine had recently named him “Man of the Year” due to his repairing of the economy and his push for secular reform.

While an entire country shouldn’t be held accountable for the actions of a group of people, 9/11 is often closely associated with Saudi Arabia since 15 of the hijackers on the plane were Saudi. Victims’ families have even sued Saudi Arabia for allegedly financing the terrorists.
