You wouldn’t expect that hair color would have any effect on pain tolerance, but some studies have shown redheads can tolerate pain much more than others.

Though redheads are less sensitive to pain, a 2005 study from the University of Louisville showed that redheads are actually more sensitive to changes in temperatures due to the redhead gene MC1R. The study suggested that they might be able to detect changes in temperature before anyone else. Maybe more redheads should be weather forecasters?
