Female Armenian Soldiers
Although women were historically banned or not encouraged to join the military, some armies accepted female fighters in their ranks. An example of this are these Armenian soldiers. This photo was captured during the Hamidian Massacres that took place in 1895, when Turkish armies killed thousands of Armenians, so these women took up arms to help defend their country.
