When a movie is made, a lot of time, resources, manpower, and money goes into it. Very few scripts ever actually make it into production in Hollywood, so the studio is usually making a pretty big bet that the investment poured in will be made back, plus some. When a film is a total dud, it really can be quite devastating to the studio, costing millions of dollars that won’t be recovered quickly if ever. Some films end up flopping so badly, they caused studios to shut down altogether. Here are some of the worst Hollywood movies that were total disasters.
Zoolander 2 (2016)
It’s unclear why the classic comedy film Zoolander ever needed a sequel, but we got it even though we didn’t ask for it. The movie did so terribly and it has an IMDB rating of 4.7 out of 10. Ouch!
Alexander (2004)
Even though 2004’s Alexander featured stars like Angelina Jolie, who played Colin Farrell’s mother despite being just a year old than him in real life, the film ended up losing $71 million after becoming a total flop.
